SonomaWORKS Housing Support Program (HSP)Sonoma County Human Services and its partner agencies, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Santa Rosa and the Sonoma County Community Development Commission (CDC), came together to launch the SonomaWORKS Housing Support Program (HSP) in January 2015. Funded by the state and awarded to just 20 counties in the first year, its success has seen an expansion into 44 counties the second year.
So far, SonomaWORKS HSP has helped over 90 families secure permanent housing here in Sonoma County. HSP is serving families like 26-year-old Laura and her 4 year-old daughter who found themselves homeless after fleeing an abusive relationship. Now that they have a safe and stable home, Laura has been able to secure childcare and find employment. The SonomaWORKS Housing Support Program (HSP) is for families who are homeless and have at least one family member receiving SonomaWORKS benefits in Sonoma County. The goal of the program is to help SonomaWORKS families secure, move into and retain a permanent home, while providing the wrap-around support that is needed for success. Our program offers an array of flexible services and support that may include partnerships with landlords, move-in assistance, deposits, temporary rental subsidies, financial counseling, credit repair, retention and intensive case management.
